Job Summary

Seeking an Expert Estonian Audio Transcriber to work remotely on a part-time basis, responsible for converting audio recordings of native speakers into precise written transcripts while applying expert linguistic judgment and adhering to project-specific style guides.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following project-specific conventions
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal and colloquial speech, and flag ambiguous segments
• Self-review submissions against quality standards and engage with QA reviewers for calibration and updates

Required qualifications

• Native fluency in Estonian with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Estonia
• Mastery of current Estonian orthography, including vowel-length distinctions
• At least two years of professional transcription or related experience
• Strong ear for Estonian phonology and the ability to distinguish dialectal varieties
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace for effective transcription
