Job Summary

Seeking an Expert Finnish Audio Transcriber for a remote, part-time opportunity, responsible for converting audio recordings of native speakers into precise written transcripts while applying expert linguistic judgment and adhering to project-specific style guides.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following specific style guidelines
• Apply conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, and non-speech events in transcripts
• Engage with QA reviewers on calibration sessions and style guide updates while self-reviewing submissions for quality

Required qualifications

• Native fluency in Finnish with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Finland
• Mastery of standard Finnish orthography and awareness of spoken-language conventions
• At least two years of professional transcription or related experience
• Ability to distinguish major Finnish dialect regions in transcription
• Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and variable-speed audio playback
