Expert Java Engineer

Job Summary

Leading a cross-functional development team, the full-time Expert Java Engineer will manage the technical roadmap for Salesforce microservices migration and feature engineering on the Java 21 / Spring Boot 3 platform, while coding hands-on 40-60% of the time in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap and sequencing of the Salesforce microservices migration
• Set engineering standards for the pod, including code reviews and definitions of done
• Run the pod's delivery rhythm, including planning, demos, and weekly updates to the client

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building Java backend systems, with at least 3 years on Spring Boot in production
• Demonstrable experience as a technical lead in monolith-to-microservices migration
• Strong AWS architectural experience, including VPC design and RDS PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with async messaging architectures such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Track record of leading teams of 4-8 engineers in remote or hybrid settings
