Expert Systems Engineer

Job Summary

As a remote Expert Systems Engineer specializing in AIX, the full-time position will manage the architecture, engineering, and optimization of IBM AIX and Power Systems environments, focusing on complex platform decisions and large-scale migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical owner and subject matter expert for IBM AIX and Power Systems platforms
• Lead AIX OS lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and kernel tuning
• Drive automation strategies for AIX operations, developing and integrating automation frameworks

Required Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of hands-on experience in IBM AIX and Power Systems
• Expert level knowledge of AIX OS administration, PowerVM, and pSeries architecture
• Strong expertise in SAN storage, high availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise networking
• Proven experience leading large-scale migrations and transformations
• Advanced shell scripting and automation skills
