Export Control and Research Security Director

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership and oversight, the full-time salaried Export Control and Research Security Director will ensure compliance with federal export control regulations and research security requirements while supporting the university's international research portfolio in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the university's Export Control and Research Security programs, ensuring compliance with relevant federal regulations
• Oversee international engagement reviews and security-related compliance protocols
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs related to export control and research security

Required qualifications

• Master's Degree in International affairs, compliance, security studies, law, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 7-10 years of experience in export control, research security, or related compliance areas
• Expertise with EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and federal research security frameworks
• Strong leadership and policy development skills
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, administrators, and federal partners
