Job Summary
Providing expert legal guidance, the full-time Export Control Attorney will counsel product development and engineering teams on U.S. export control regulations, focusing on dual-use items, while working remotely from anywhere in the continental U.S.
Key responsibilities
- Offer day-to-day legal advice on U.S. export control regulations, particularly regarding dual-use items
- Counsel hardware engineering and supply chain teams on jurisdiction, classification, and licensing requirements throughout the product lifecycle
- Analyze export control implications of emerging technologies and provide guidance on international trade risks and cross-border technology transfers
Required qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 7+ years of legal experience specializing in export controls and international trade compliance
- Deep expertise in the EAR with a proven track record in complex classification and licensing matters
- Demonstrated experience counseling engineering and product teams on physical hardware and supply chains
- Experience advising on consumer hardware products and advanced robotics is preferred
