Job Summary
To support a leading social media company, the full-time Export Control Attorney will provide legal guidance on US export control regulations, focusing on dual-use items and counseling product development and engineering teams remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal guidance on US export control regulations, particularly regarding dual-use items
- Counsel product development and hardware engineering teams on jurisdiction, classification, and licensing requirements throughout the product lifecycle
- Analyze export control implications of emerging technologies and assess international trade risks related to cross-border technology transfers and global supply chain logistics
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 7+ years of legal experience specializing in export controls and international trade compliance
- Deep expertise in the EAR with a track record of handling complex classification and licensing matters
- Demonstrated experience counseling engineering and product teams on physical hardware and supply chains
- Experience with consumer hardware products and/or advanced robotics is preferred
