Family Support Partner

Job Summary

Providing education and assistance in navigating child-serving systems, the part-time Family Support Partner will mentor legal guardians in the Charlotte area, offering support in both in-person and virtual settings while maintaining a flexible schedule typically around 9 am-5 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Educate and assist legal guardians in navigating various child-serving systems, including child welfare and education
• Provide 9-12 mentorship sessions weekly to legal guardians in home, school, and community settings
• Build and maintain relationships with guardians to support their skill development and referrals

Required qualifications

• Experience as a primary caregiver of a youth with special needs or involvement in child welfare
• National certification or in the process of obtaining certification as a Parent Support Provider
• One year of experience working with the target population, or an Associate degree in the human service field with one year of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with five years of experience
• Valid Driver's License and compliance with credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards
• Ability to pass a drug screening test and extensive background check
