Farm Certification Specialist

Job Summary

Providing technical and customer service support to certified farm operations and new applicants, the full-time Farm Certification Specialist will review compliance with USDA National Organic Program standards and maintain accurate client database records while working remotely in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Review inspection reports and mid-year updates to evaluate compliance with organic standards and communicate outcomes to clients
• Make compliance decisions regarding land history, crop management, and labeling while providing excellent customer service to clients
• Maintain accurate client records in the database and manage workload to ensure timely review of updates and reports

Required qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree in environmental science, agriculture, or a related field, or at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently within established procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, tailored to diverse audiences
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and capable of learning database programs
• Experience in delivering technical support and maintaining professional customer service interactions
