Job Summary
Leading the design execution process from project startup through final design and construction support, the full-time remote Federal Design Manager will integrate contract requirements, federal criteria, and multidisciplinary inputs into a coordinated delivery approach.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the design integration and readiness discipline while ensuring action visibility and evidence-based closure throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to validate technical direction, quality expectations, and manage design-related risks
- Plan and coordinate design reviews, interdisciplinary checks, and quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet established standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a closely related technical discipline
- Fifteen or more years of progressive design, engineering, or project delivery experience with substantial responsibility for multidisciplinary design coordination
- Demonstrated experience in a senior design-management role on complex, high-profile federal projects
- Experience supporting projects from startup through design planning, construction support, and closeout
- Working knowledge of contract requirements, codes, and design basis control
