Federal IT Systems Architect

Job Summary

Serving as the senior technical authority for the AIMS system, the remote IT Systems Architect (Cobol) will lead architecture, system design, and engineering oversight while acting as a Subject Matter Expert for federal IRS systems in a long-term contract role.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead system architecture, design, and engineering oversight for the AIMS system
• Analyze requirements and develop software/system specifications, including logical and physical design reviews
• Support system integration with IRS enterprise architecture and provide 24x7 operational support

Required qualifications:

• Deep expertise in AIMS system architecture and IRS environments
• Strong experience with UNISYS mainframe systems and AIMS Database Architecture
• Proficiency in UNISYS COBOL, TSO (IPF/CTS), and related technical skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Strong leadership capability and experience in highly regulated federal environments
