Job Summary
Supporting and advancing the YMCA's federal priorities, the full-time Federal Policy Manager will cultivate relationships with federal policymakers, analyze legislation, and lead grassroots mobilization efforts while working remotely from the Washington, D.C. area.
Key responsibilities
- Cultivate and manage relationships with Congressional offices and federal agency stakeholders to advance policy and funding goals
- Monitor and analyze federal legislation and regulations to inform organizational priorities and decision-making
- Lead the design and execution of advocacy engagement programs to strengthen participation in federal advocacy efforts
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred
- 5-7 years of issues management experience in a political or public affairs environment
- Strong understanding of federal policy, legislative processes, and agency engagement
- Ability to analyze complex policy and funding issues and translate them into clear recommendations
- Experience supporting events, advocacy days, or stakeholder engagement programs
