FHA DE and VA SAR Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and underwrite residential mortgage applications according to policies and regulations
• Evaluate borrower creditworthiness by analyzing income, assets, credit documentation, and loan metrics
• Communicate lending decisions and maintain accountability for risk elevation and underwriting adherence

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience with government and agency mortgage underwriting
• Active FHA DE and VA SAR designations are required
• Proficiency with mortgage software, including Encompass 360, Desktop Underwriter, and Loan Product Advisor
• Extensive knowledge of mortgage credit, underwriting concepts, and loan documentation
• Strong understanding of federal and state consumer lending regulations
