Job Summary

Seeking an FHA DE Certified Underwriter, the fully remote Senior Mortgage Underwriter will manage a diverse pipeline of FHA and conventional loans, applying strategic judgment on complex files while collaborating with loan officers and processors to ensure efficient closings.

Key responsibilities

• Own and underwrite a diverse pipeline of FHA and conventional loans from submission to clear-to-close
• Serve as a strategic resource for loan officers and processors on complex deals, maintaining high-quality standards
• Utilize Encompass LOS and automated underwriting systems to support accurate credit decisions and enhance workflow efficiency

Required qualifications

• Active FHA DE certification with a valid CHUMS ID
• 3-5 years of frontline retail residential mortgage underwriting experience
• Proficiency in DU and LPA automated underwriting systems and Encompass LOS
• Deep knowledge of FHA and conventional conforming guidelines
• Self-directed work style with a high level of accountability and autonomy
