FHA Licensed Government Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Mortgage Underwriter (Wholesale).

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite FHA and/or VA loans in accordance with agency guidelines and maintain production standards
• Review and document underwriting decisions, and communicate effectively with Loan Officers and Processors
• Provide guidance within the underwriting team and assist with training across mortgage operations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent government underwriting experience
• Active FHA DE designation required; VA SAR/LAPP designation preferred
• Proficient in manual underwriting of government loans and recent experience with Conventional loans
• Strong understanding of agency guidelines and investor overlays
• Ability to manage high volume in a fast-paced environment
