FHA/VA Government Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Underwriter (FHA/VA).

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite FHA and VA loans, ensuring compliance with company policies
• Manage communication with Loan Officers and Processors regarding loan status
• Assist in training other mortgage positions and maintain current knowledge of products

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of government underwriting experience
• Active CHUMS and LAPP/Sar designations for FHA and VA loans
• Recent frontline underwriting experience within the last 12 to 18 months
• Experience with Conventional loans and additional loan types such as Bond, USDA, Renovation, and Construction preferred
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
