FHA/VA Licensed Government Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Government Underwriter (FHA/VA) with active designations to underwrite various loan types, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards while working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite VA and FHA loans, ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines
• Communicate regularly with Loan Officers and Processors regarding loan statuses and requirements
• Assist in training other mortgage positions and maintain accurate documentation of underwriting processes

Required qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of government underwriting experience specifically with FHA and VA loans
• Possession of valid FHA Chums and/or active LAPP/SAR designations
• Demonstrated knowledge of DU and LP systems, with the ability to interpret and document findings
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
• Strong leadership skills and ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity
