FHA VA Licensed Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Mortgage Underwriter (FHA/VA) for the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite FHA and/or VA loans in accordance with agency guidelines and maintain production standards
• Communicate loan decisions and status updates clearly with Loan Officers and Processors
• Provide guidance within the underwriting team and assist with training and knowledge-sharing

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent government underwriting experience
• Active FHA DE designation (CHUMS required) and VA SAR/LAPP designation preferred
• Proficient in manual underwriting of government loans and recent experience with Conventional loans
• Strong understanding of agency guidelines and investor overlays
• Ability to manage high volume in a fast-paced environment
