FHA VA Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Underwriter (West Coast).

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite government loans including FHA and VA loans, as well as other loan types
• Communicate regularly with Loan Officers and Processors regarding loan status
• Assist with training needs of other mortgage positions and maintain accurate tracking of loan files

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of recent government underwriting experience
• Valid LAPP/SAR for VA Loans and preferably FHA (DE) designation
• Experience as a frontline underwriter within the last 12 to 18 months
• Demonstrated knowledge of DU and LP input and interpretation
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
