FHIR API Engineer

Job Summary

To support a large-scale payer interoperability and prior authorization modernization initiative, the FHIR API Engineer will work full-time on-site, focusing on healthcare API integrations, vendor onboarding, and interoperability testing to enhance payer-provider connectivity and comply with evolving CMS requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Support implementation and enhancement of FHIR-based healthcare interoperability integrations
• Work with vendor partners to establish, configure, test, and troubleshoot API connections
• Validate FHIR payloads, API transactions, and endpoint configurations

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of API and integration engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources)
• Experience supporting healthcare interoperability initiatives within payer or provider organizations
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and API integration patterns
• Ability to work directly with vendors and business stakeholders
