Fiber Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Fiber Engineer-Long Haul Implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs routes for fiber-based services including Point to Point, Ring, and path diverse routing
• Researches existing databases for network design, fiber optimization, and relocation of fiber facilities
• Delivers design solutions for fiber paths and splicing schematics for high volume fiber projects

Required Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Engineering or equivalent Telecom Network experience required
• Minimum of five years of fiber design experience, including ring configurations and FTT projects
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Visio and Excel; knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
• Prior experience in telecom and fiber plant installation required
• Knowledge of GIS-based platforms and fiber inventory systems, with GE Smallworld experience preferred
