Fiber Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Fiber Engineer responsible for designing physical fiber paths and managing fiber inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs routes for fiber-based services and delivers design solutions for fiber path and splicing schematics
• Researches existing databases for network design and maintains the fiber plant database for accuracy
• Interfaces with engineers and stakeholders to validate project specifications and manage inventory effectively

Required Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Engineering or equivalent Telecom Network Experience
• 3+ years of fiber design experience, including ring configurations and FTT projects
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Visio and Excel; knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
• Experience with GIS-based platforms and fiber inventory systems, preferably GE Smallworld
• Ability to produce and interpret detailed KMZ files using Google Earth
