Fiber Monitoring Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Fiber Monitoring Engineer responsible for designing and managing fiber paths in support of fiber-based services.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs routes for fiber-based services including point-to-point and ring configurations
• Researches existing databases for network design and fiber optimization
• Maintains the fiber plant database and ensures accurate inventory management

Required Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Engineering or equivalent telecom network experience
• Minimum of three years of fiber design experience, including high-volume projects
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Visio and Excel; Salesforce knowledge is a plus
• Experience with GIS-based platforms and fiber inventory systems, preferably GE Smallworld
• Ability to produce and interpret KMZ files using Google Earth
