Job Summary
To support a remote contact center, the full-time Financial Advocate will manage patient financial estimates, communicate payment responsibilities, and assist uninsured patients in accessing financial assistance programs.
Key responsibilities
- Calculates and provides personalized financial estimates based on insurance coverage prior to service
- Educates patients on their financial responsibilities, including deductibles and payment arrangements
- Interviews uninsured patients to assess financial needs and coordinates applications for assistance programs
Required qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED/HSED
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in Patient Access, healthcare, insurance, or customer service
- Solid knowledge of insurance operations related to denials and appeals processes
- Basic medical coding knowledge
- Understanding of billing and insurance denials
