Job Summary

To support patient financial needs, the full-time Financial Advocate will calculate personalized cost estimates, communicate patient liabilities, and assist uninsured patients with financial assistance applications, all while working remotely Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key responsibilities
  • Calculates and provides patients with estimates of their financial responsibility based on insurance coverage
  • Requests upfront payments and establishes payment arrangements for self-pay amounts
  • Interviews uninsured patients to assess financial needs and coordinates assistance programs
Required qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED/HSED
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in Patient Access, healthcare, or customer service
  • Basic medical coding knowledge
  • Solid understanding of insurance operations related to denials and appeals processes
  • Ability to articulate HIPAA and EMTALA regulations in patient interactions
