Job Summary

A company is looking for a Financial Clearance Specialist to assess and verify patient information for scheduled medical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information
• Accurately estimates patient financial liability and processes payments
• Ensures pre-certification authorization is in place prior to services being rendered

Required Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D., business concentration preferred
• Four plus (4+) years of experience in a business office setting, preferably within a hospital revenue cycle
• Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required
• Associate degree or higher is preferred
• Knowledge of third-party collections and reimbursement is preferred
