Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for assessing and verifying patient information for medical services, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will manage insurance eligibility, collect patient payments, and ensure pre-certification authorization, all while working remotely from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information
• Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding their costs
• Receives and processes patient payments, ensuring all financial clearance policies are adhered to

Required qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.; business concentration preferred
• At least four years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle
• Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required
• Working knowledge of personal computers and business office applications is preferred
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems and knowledge of third-party collections is a plus
