Job Summary
To support financial operations, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will verify patient information, collect payments, and manage insurance inquiries while working remotely during standard business hours.
Key responsibilities
- Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and accurate billing information while performing collections on outstanding accounts
- Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and answers inquiries regarding their responsibilities
- Receives and processes patient payments, ensuring pre-certification and referrals are in place prior to services being rendered
Required qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.; business concentration preferred
- Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle or healthcare environment
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required
- Working knowledge of personal computers and business office applications is preferred
- Familiarity with hospital computer systems and knowledge of third-party collections is a plus
