Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Financial Clearance Specialist will assess and verify patient information for scheduled medical services, ensuring accurate collection of financial liabilities and resolving insurance issues prior to service delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather accurate patient billing information
- Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding costs
- Receives and processes patient payments while ensuring pre-certification and referrals are in place before services are rendered
Required qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.; business concentration preferred
- Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle or healthcare environment
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required
- Familiarity with hospital computer systems and knowledge of third-party collections is preferred
