Job Summary
Responsible for assessing and verifying patient information for medical services, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will manage patient demographics, financial, and insurance data, ensuring accurate collections and estimates while primarily working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information
- Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding costs
- Receives and processes patient payments, ensuring pre-certification authorization is in place prior to services
Required qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.; business concentration preferred
- Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in hospital revenue cycle
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required
- Working knowledge of personal computers and business office applications preferred
- Familiarity with hospital computer systems and knowledge of third-party collections is a plus
