Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will assess and verify patient information for scheduled medical services, manage patient financial liabilities, and facilitate insurance communications to ensure smooth access to care.
Key responsibilities
- Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information
- Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding payments
- Processes patient payments and ensures necessary pre-certification authorizations are in place
Required qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D., with a business concentration preferred
- Four plus years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required
- Associate degree or higher is preferred
- Knowledge of third-party collections and reimbursement is a plus
