Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will assess and verify patient information for scheduled medical services, manage patient financial liabilities, and facilitate insurance communications to ensure smooth access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information
• Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding payments
• Processes patient payments and ensures necessary pre-certification authorizations are in place

Required qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D., with a business concentration preferred
• Four plus years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle
• Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required
• Associate degree or higher is preferred
• Knowledge of third-party collections and reimbursement is a plus
