Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing revenue cycle team, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will verify insurance eligibility and benefits coverage, secure pre-certification and authorization for medical services, and communicate coverage status with patients and providers while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits coverage for scheduled and unscheduled services
• Secure pre-certification and authorization for inpatient and outpatient medical services
• Communicate with patients and providers regarding coverage status and estimated patient liability amounts

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience in hospital or professional services pre-access or billing
• Experience with insurance eligibility verification and obtaining pre-certification for medical services
• Proficiency with insurance verification portals and experience using Epic or similar systems
• Understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively in a healthcare setting
