Financial Clearance Supervisor

Job Summary

Supervising the daily activities of Patient Access & Central Financial Clearance, the full-time Financial Clearance Supervisor will manage pre-authorization workflows, ensure quality and productivity goals are met, and provide leadership and training to team members in a predominantly remote role with occasional onsite obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversees verification of eligibility and pre-authorization processes, ensuring compliance with payer requirements
• Monitors authorization and clearance reports, ensuring accurate documentation in billing systems and addressing any issues
• Conducts performance reviews, provides coaching, and supports staff development to enhance team effectiveness

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in healthcare preferred
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in hospital or physician business office procedures, or revenue cycle management
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare environment preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedure, and diagnosis codes required
• Revenue cycle certification (e.g., HFMA, NAHAM, AAHAM) preferred
