Financial Counselor

Job Summary

To support the financial operations of a healthcare organization, the full-time Financial Counselor will manage follow-ups with insurance companies and patients to secure payments for services rendered while working remotely from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with insurance companies and patients to obtain payments for services rendered
• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines to ensure accurate billing processes
• Operate a 10 key calculator and manage various administrative tasks related to collections

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Minimum of three years of previous collection experience
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (ICD-9, CPT-4, HCPCS)
• Experience with Microsoft applications preferred
• Knowledge of UB-04 and CMS 1500 forms
