Financial Operations AVP

Job Summary

Leading key finance and operational accounting activities, the remote AVP, Financial Operations will oversee financial operations, strengthen internal controls, support reporting accuracy, and drive process improvements within the commercial property & casualty and specialty insurance business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial operations, including accounting oversight, financial controls, reconciliations, and operational reporting
• Support timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Partner with business, finance, treasury, underwriting, and shared services teams to improve financial workflows and issue resolution

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial operations, insurance accounting, or finance leadership roles
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, reporting processes, and accounting principles
• Experience within the property & casualty insurance industry strongly preferred
• Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel skills preferred
