Firewall Network Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's infrastructure, the fully remote Firewall Network Engineer will manage Check Point Firewall clusters, oversee the Zscaler Zero Trust platform, and implement advanced security measures while ensuring a secure network environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple Check Point Firewall clusters and support the Zscaler Zero Trust platform
• Monitor and remediate cybersecurity events and threats while participating in security assessments and compliance activities
• Collaborate with network, security, and operations teams to maintain the integrity and security of enterprise network services

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field with 8 years of IT experience, or 12 years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience managing firewall environments for large-scale organizations with 35,000+ users
• Hands-on experience with Check Point, Fortinet, and Zscaler technologies
• Experience in preventing, detecting, and remediating cybersecurity incidents
• Experience developing incident response procedures and managing incidents through a ticket management system
