Firewall Network Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's cybersecurity initiatives, the full-time Firewall Network Engineer will manage Check Point Firewall clusters and the Zscaler Zero Trust platform while ensuring the security and compliance of the enterprise network environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple Check Point Firewall clusters and the Zscaler Zero Trust platform, including ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX
• Monitor and remediate cybersecurity events and threats, participating in annual security assessments and compliance activities
• Collaborate with network, security, and operations teams to maintain the integrity and security of enterprise network services

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field with 8 years of IT experience, or 12 years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience managing firewall environments for large-scale organizations with over 35,000 users
• Hands-on experience with Check Point, Fortinet, and Zscaler technologies
• Experience in preventing, detecting, and remediating cybersecurity incidents
• Experience developing incident response procedures and participating in security assessments
