Job Summary

Providing program and biological support, the full-time Fisheries Biologist will conduct interagency consultations under various environmental acts, including ESA and MSA, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze scientific data to determine environmental impacts on biological resources and aquatic habitats
  • Write ESA Biological Opinions and MSA responses related to salmon and steelhead, ensuring compliance with NMFS jurisdiction
  • Provide technical assistance and feedback to action agencies regarding biological assessments and permit applications
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with three years of experience, or a Master's degree in a related field with one year of experience
  • Knowledge of salmonid life cycles and habitat requirements
  • Experience with ESA and MSA regulations and document preparation
  • Proficiency in common software applications, including MS Office and Google Workplace
  • Experience assessing the impacts of human activities on marine species and their habitats
