Job Summary
Providing Fisheries Disaster Support Services, the full-time remote Fisheries Disaster Support Specialist will manage program evaluations, serve as a point of contact for requestors, and draft decision memos for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in support of fishery disaster declarations.
Key responsibilities
- Review and evaluate fishery disaster requests for completeness and compliance with MSA requirements
- Serve as the primary contact for requestors, addressing inquiries and coordinating with the Regional Fishery Disaster Assistance Lead
- Draft and submit decision memos for fishery disaster evaluations, ensuring adherence to established timelines and procedures
Required qualifications
- Experience in program planning and management within a team environment
- Ability to review and evaluate quantitative data, including economic and population size data
- Familiarity with policy analysis and standards evaluation
- Preferred experience with salmon management and data analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Office Suite, and online seminar software
