Fisheries Science Analyst

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Fisheries Science Analyst to support sustainable fisheries management strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct ESA effects analyses for harvest and hatchery management frameworks
• Perform trend analysis, risk assessment, and population evaluations
• Prepare NEPA documents and evaluate alternative fishery management strategies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of laws pertaining to fishing industry management, including the Magnuson-Stevens Act and the National Environmental Policy Act
• Experience in preparing NEPA analytical documents such as Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements
• Experience conducting technical analyses for anadromous salmonids, particularly regarding hatchery and harvest management actions
• Experience performing ESA consultations and knowledge of fisheries management frameworks in the Pacific Northwest Region is preferred
