Florida Associate Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Associate Underwriter to support the acquisition and retention of profitable commercial lines customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with gathering underwriting information on renewal and new business accounts and work with agencies to obtain missing information
• Approve, modify, or decline transactions within assigned authority level and handle endorsement requests
• Manage the renewal underwriting of less complex accounts and prepare appropriate underwriting file documentation

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years of relevant commercial underwriting experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Knowledge of commercial property & casualty forms, rating rules, and underwriting principles
• Familiarity with the independent agency system is preferred
