Florida Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

Collaborating with medical staff and case managers, the full-time Florida Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will improve the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation, conduct reviews of patient accounts, and provide ongoing education to the healthcare team, working both onsite and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitates appropriate clinical documentation to support accurate diagnosis coding and service level recording
• Collaborates with coding staff and communicates with the care team to enhance medical record documentation
• Conducts ongoing education for new staff regarding clinical documentation practices and guidelines

Required qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (RN or LPN) or School of Medicine (MD or MBBS)
• Minimum of 1-year experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist in an acute care hospital
• Active RN or LPN license, or MD/MBBS certification
• Proficiency in clinical documentation guidelines and coding practices
• Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with documentation policies
