Job Summary
Responsible for coding medical records remotely, the full-time Florida Licensed Coder I will abstract data into Epic and 3M 360, ensuring accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Abstract data from medical records to create detailed case summaries
- Identify and code primary and secondary diagnoses and procedures for ED, Diagnostic, and Ancillary records
- Ensure compliance with coding procedures mandated by government and payers, including APC assignments and HCC codes
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient coding experience or completion of a coding course
- CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS, or other relevant coding certification required
- Certification as a CRC, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA required
- Additional specialty certifications from AAPC or AHIMA will be considered
