Job Summary

Responsible for coding medical records remotely, the full-time Florida Licensed Coder I will abstract data into Epic and 3M 360, ensuring accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Abstract data from medical records to create detailed case summaries
• Identify and code primary and secondary diagnoses and procedures for ED, Diagnostic, and Ancillary records
• Ensure compliance with coding procedures mandated by government and payers, including APC assignments and HCC codes

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient coding experience or completion of a coding course
• CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS, or other relevant coding certification required
• Certification as a CRC, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA required
• Additional specialty certifications from AAPC or AHIMA will be considered
