Job Summary
Responsible for abstracting data from medical records, the full-time Florida Licensed Coder I will identify and code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Abstract data from medical records into Epic and 3M 360 for detailed case summaries
- Identify and code primary and secondary diagnoses and procedures for outpatient records
- Ensure compliance with coding procedures mandated by government and payers, including HCC codes
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient coding experience or completion of a coding course
- CPC, COC, CPC-P, or CCS certification required
- Additional certification such as CRC, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA required
- One coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required
