Job Summary
To ensure coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Florida Licensed Coding Auditor will perform quality reviews on coded records, provide education to coding staff, and assist with appeals for DRG denials in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct quality reviews on coded records to validate ICD-10, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, and APR-DRGs
- Deliver continuing education to coding staff regarding coding and reimbursement system changes
- Review and interpret clinical documentation, collaborating with physicians to resolve discrepancies
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of inpatient or outpatient coding or auditing experience
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Expansive knowledge of Medicare DRGs, coding guidelines, and reimbursement systems
- High School diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational school preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Encoder software
