Florida Licensed Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist (remote position).

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret medical records to assign correct codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 systems
• Abstract necessary information from medical records to identify diagnoses and related conditions
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and communicate with medical staff to clarify documentation as needed

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of work experience and education
• Minimum of three years of acute care, home health, physician, or ancillary coding experience
• Successful completion of a credentialed coding certificate program with credentials such as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or HCS-D
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and clinical documentation improvement
• Familiarity with encoder technology and electronic medical record systems
