Florida Licensed Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support revenue cycle operations, the full-time Florida Licensed Coding Specialist will review and resolve coding issues related to billing, provide education on documentation and coding, and ensure compliance with policies while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Determine appropriate information submission to insurance companies and ensure timely follow-up on denied claims
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing and reimbursement, identifying AR trends and denial issues
• Utilize coding resources to understand denied procedures and assist Revenue Cycle Specialists with correction requests

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• CPC, CPC-A, RHIT, or CCS Certification required
• 2 - 4 years of experience in medical coding
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and surgical coding preferred
• Familiarity with Medicare Part B, commercial insurance products, and CMS 1500 completion preferred
