Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist - Remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret medical records to assign correct codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 classification systems
• Review clinical documentation to ensure valid coding and maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate
• Communicate with medical staff to clarify documentation for appropriate code assignment

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of work experience and education
• Minimum of three (3) years of coding experience in acute care, home health, or physician settings
• Successful completion of a credentialed coding certificate program with credentials such as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or HCS-D
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, medical terminology, and clinical documentation improvement
• Familiarity with encoder technology and electronic medical records (EMR)
