Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Coding Specialist, Sr-Inpatient.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-level review and analysis of clinical documentation to assign diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient visits
• Query physicians for clarification of documentation discrepancies and assist in medical record reviews for audits
• Maintain productivity standards and participate in quality audits, ensuring a minimum accuracy of 95%

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Health Information Management or completion of a coding certificate program
• Computer literacy and knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Score of 90% or better on the senior level coding skills test
• Must maintain certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
• Five years of previous hospital inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience required
