Florida Licensed Media Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Counsel/Sr. Counsel for its News Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise editorial leadership and journalists on various platforms in support of news programming and content
• Conduct pre-broadcast and pre-publication reviews, and advise on newsgathering and access issues
• Monitor legal developments affecting the press and freedom of speech while providing legal training for the newsroom

Required Qualifications:

• Fluency in Spanish
• Law degree required
• Member in good standing of a State Bar or registered as in-house counsel
• 5+ years of legal experience for Counsel, or 7+ years for Sr. Counsel, advising news clients on media law
• Working knowledge of media law and ethics
